Can anyone reccommend a book to help me understand the basics of photography. I have a Canon EOS 10D, which I've had for nearly 2 years but I really don't know how to get the most out of it. I've read the manual so I know how to change settings, etc, but I don't really understand why I change these settings. OK, as an example, I know how to change exposure, aperture but don't understand why I should increase/reduce these settings. I really have no understanding of basic photography principles and I would like a good book to get me started!!!
Also, I'd like to get a zoom lens of sorts. Can anyone recommend a reasonable brand and how much I should be paying. It's for a novice, remember!!
The canon 10D is a perfect camera for a novice photographer - from what you are saying I think you should try and find a photography course - many larger camera stores will run them and Canon in your country may also run them so look on their website or give them a call and they be able to recommend one in your area - hope this helps
