I am trying to shoot a water splash in macro. However, i get the background in focus, but the splash is slightly out of focus. The background is about 1 inch from the background. I am using a halogen light and have used shutter speeds of up to 1/800. The lens is within 3 inches from the splash (well within the acceptable range of the lens i am using). any suggestions?
Maybe try setting your camera to Manual Focus. Make sure the drop always lands in the same spot. Adjust the focus until you get the picture you want. Trial and error is usually the best approach!
