Has anyone seen the new 350D yet. Found out about on dpreview and looks to me like an amazing replacement for the 300D. When i first heard about it I was worried Canon would just either have upgraded the 300 or downgraded the 20 but it looks like they have spent alot of time developing a new camera to replace the 300. For a start its 8mp but has a different sensor to the 20 (which is 8.2) and speed has been vastly improved over the sluggish 300. Another feature of the 350 I like is it now has a mirror lockup option, a simple thing that vastly improves the camera in my opinion. Oh, and it's supposed to be coming out in black as the standard colour with silver as an option to follow. The only thing I cant find out yet is the price and release date for the UK, I've heard 17th of March and a price of £799 for the kit but I cant confirm this yet.
All in all it sounds like a good camera, if anyone has any info I'd like to here it (or read it should I say).

It looks like a great update - but i don't think any have been released yet so i don't think too many would have had their hands on on yet
i also read a rumour of 2 more digital slr cameras to be released by Nikon by May - a D50 (maybe) and a replacement of the D100.

| I have seen this in the shop recently. There nice but Canon have tried to make this as small as the 3000. Its too small for my liking . The balance with my larger lenses will be wierd. I'm sticking with my 300D till I can afford the 20D

size should not be a problem to me moving from an A80, they are tiny in comparison. if money was no issue then I too would plump for 20D (anything higher will be wasted on me at the moment, and for a long time).

well if money really was no object then maybe H1 and imacon or a new 22 MP mamiya - get serious if you are dreaming
but if you are talking 6-8 MP don't discount the Olympus E300 Pentax or maybe even the minolta personally i'd like to know what olympus might be thinking - the E1 must be close to update - that system with 8-10 MP (they would have to be thinking that) could be very competitive.

| Your biggest investment will be the lenses as the bodies will constantly be upgraded. Decide on the make. Mine was swayed by the fact that most members of my club were Canon so was able to try lenses and gain their experience. The Nikon D70 was oh so clos, but the 300D was bought after I was able to try one at the club.

I too will purchase Canon when I can afford to go SLR, as I have 3 friends with Canon's (20D and 2 300D's) so swapping lenses will be a big plus. I really do like the look and feel of the Nikon but dont like the idea of being stuck with only the lenses I can afford to buy. The 20D is currently my dream camera, and I'm sticking to it!

If you do wedding on a budget, the 350D is a good camera. I have direct experience with both
the 300D and the 350D and 1 othe things I like with the 350D which I find lacking with the 300D
on an actual wedding is the frames per second and the buffer memory with the 350D, I find this problem solve.
