I know the answer to the question for the most part, but I want to hear what some of you did to get the quality links pointing to your site. What are some other ways besides the normal to do it and them most effective. Also, tell me if someone use http://www.linkcountdown.com/ for links, it looks to be a interesting site.
looks like a somewhat spammy post but i'll let it through
well i wouldn't buy links from a site which sells links - like this (your) site- purely because it would place you at too great a risk of penalty at worst or having the links in downweight to the point of uselessness and wasting your money
directories with a theme in the area of your site big directories like dmoz and link exchanges with site with similar content
joining photo forums like http://www.photography-gallery.com and discussing photography telling them about your work etc helps create an organic growth of links to your site as more people see it comment on it and cite it on their own websites
writing articles either for your site or (and i mean or don't duplicate content) for distribution and where it is posted with a link to your site
having an organic / natural evolution of links to your site is important and needs to make up a percentage of your links in - hardcore link submissions to every possible directory or site regardless of their content / theme is a waste of time as they probably don't count for much
