First off let me make clear that I'm in no way an expert in web-design... just a webmaster myself so any advice are strictly from experience and not expertise.

To start with you have included the image preloaded script on your page... it would probably be better as an external file!

The two images (leading to the galleries)I have the biggest problem with; They are unequal in height which doesn't really do it for me (just an opinion this one) maybe if they were even they would look better. Plus the b/w one has a frame but the color one doesn't, I'm a big fan of consistency as you can see from my site - Reminiscing Visions Digital Photography, perhaps a more neutral frame that would work on both? They have no alternative text which from what I hear is SEO hell and, finally it is not 100% obvious that they take you to different places... perhaps some text on or under them would make it more evident.

You are not using any special font or effect for the title so it could probably be done in HTML instead of an imagefile which would reduce the load time (I don't really bother with loadtime on my site anymore but if you do then it might be worth looking into)

Sorry for being a bit rush...
